Homeschooling & Kindergarten FAQs:

Are you a private school or a homeschool program?

We're not a private school in the traditional sense. We’re a homeschool support program designed to work alongside families who have chosen to homeschool. Parents remain fully responsible for keeping records, and tracking hours. We simply provide a structured, part-time environment where children can learn through hands-on, Montessori-style activities in a small, faith-based setting.

Will you keep academic records or issue grades?

No, we do not keep official records or issue grades. Because we operate as a homeschool support program, parents are responsible for maintaining their child’s educational records, portfolios, and progress reports as needed for their homeschool requirements.

"We chose to homeschool for the freedom and flexibility it offers, rather than to replicate the public school model. How does your program support that kind of flexibility and give my child a say in what they learn?"

Learning is Self-Directed in Montessori

In traditional education, learning often looks like this: a teacher gives the same lesson to a whole group, assigns a worksheet, and expects everyone to move on together. But Montessori takes a completely different view of how learning actually happens. In Montessori, learning isn’t something done to a child, it’s something the child does for themselves. Children are born with a natural drive to explore, experiment, and understand the world around them. They are not passive recipients of information, they are active participants in their own development. That’s why the Montessori classroom is designed to support self-directed learning. This doesn’t mean children are left to wander aimlessly. Quite the opposite, the environment is carefully prepared with purposeful materials, and the teacher plays an essential role. Rather than pushing children through a rigid curriculum, Montessori allows them to go deep, to repeat, to question, to follow a spark of interest until they understand something because it matters to them.

“Public school felt overstimulating for my child. What makes your environment different?”

Calm Environment, Focused Minds: In a world filled with noise, screens, and constant stimulation, children thrive in an environment that offers peace, predictability, and purpose. In our Montessori homeschool program, the physical and emotional space is intentionally prepared to support your child’s development, not overwhelm it.
Peaceful and Uncluttered:: Montessori classrooms are beautifully simple by design. You won’t find bright posters or overflowing bins here. Instead, each shelf, material, and piece of furniture is thoughtfully chosen. A tidy, organized space helps children feel more in control and ready to engage.
Predictable and Emotionally Safe: Children feel safer when they know what to expect. Our daily rhythm is consistent, gentle, and respectful of each child’s need for security and stability. This sense of safety is the foundation for emotional regulation, strong attention spans, and a willingness to take healthy risks in learning.
A Natural Path to Concentration: In Montessori, we protect a child’s ability to concentrate by giving them the time and freedom to focus deeply. With fewer distractions and clear expectations, children learn to enter a state of “flow” in their work and listen to their inner motivation. Focus isn’t forced; it grows naturally from within.
Emotional and Mental Benefits: A calm environment doesn’t just support academics—it supports the whole child. Children in peaceful spaces are more likely to be able to regulate their emotions and experience lower levels of stress and anxiety.

“How do you handle discipline or behavior issues in your program?”

Gentle Guidance, Not Harsh Punishment — In Our Homeschool Environment
In our Montessori homeschool program, we view discipline as an opportunity for growth—not a way to control behavior. In our Montessori classroom, we focus on guiding children with calm, consistent support that helps them learn from every experience.
Rather than relying on punishments, time-outs, or power struggles, we use positive discipline to nurture emotional intelligence, empathy, and real-life problem-solving.
Here’s what that looks like in a classroom setting:
• Supporting rather than controlling behavior
• Modeling kindness, patience, and clear boundaries every day
• Helping children reflect on their choices and emotions instead of reacting in frustration
Because we work so closely with your child, we have a powerful opportunity to respond with intention and compassion in challenging moments. When children feel safe, heard, and respected, they are more likely to regulate themselves, show respect in return, and take ownership of their actions.
Discipline in our program isn’t about fear—it’s about connection.
It’s not about obedience—it’s about inner responsibility.
